Who We Are
Hi, my name is Sandi Gustafson and I would like to tell you about how Barn on the Hill was created. When my husband Jim and I bought this farm in 2000, I wanted to do something fun with the barn. The hayloft was filled with old hay and the bottom of the barn was setup for milking cows. Clearing the hay out of the hayloft was quite the workout. We found some local farmers that could use the hay bales for bedding and feed for their cattle but as we got down to the floor of the loft it was really caked on and needed a lot of scraping. Some of the flooring wood wasn't in good shape and we needed to add a layer of plywood and Jim built a wonderful stairway with low rise steps and a landing. We were able to open up 1/3 of the loft by October 2009 and hold our first Fall Boutique.
Barn on the Hill is an old dairy barn located in rural Prior Lake, MN. We hold Spring and Fall Boutiques that include 25 vendors in the hayloft of the barn and another 25 vendors outside the barn showcasing crafts, hand sewn products, repurposed items, home decor, vintage items, cottage food vendors, garden decor items and so much more.
